Processing an image
The current image can be processed either by:
- Clicking the button at the very bottom left of the SizeFixer user interface (marked 'Process this image').
- Choosing 'Process this image' from the Processing menu.
At this stage, the Processing Window will appear. It displays the filename of the image being processed, a progress indicator, the time currently taken and an estimation of time remaining. Typically this last measure will jump around in the early stages of processing, but will settle down. You can hide this window by clicking the small red cross in the top left. You can recall it by selecting 'Show processing' from SizeFixer's Window menu.
IMAGES CAN TAKE A VERY LONG TIME TO PROCESS! This is especially true with images processed with super resolution. There is a phenomenal amount of processed being carried out. You should receive reasonably regular updates on progress, but don't worry if you don't see any progress for a minute or two - often the computer is busy doing something else, or SizeFixer may be precalculating some information. You should always receive the 'Elapsed time' update every second. If you do not, there is a problem. Initially, 'Time remaining' will start off artificially high - generally, 'Time remaining' will reduce rapidly until about 25% - 30% progress is completed, so don't worry if the initial estimate seems very high!

When processing is finished, the progress indicator will clear and you'll be told that there is no image being processed.
Cancelling processing
If you do not wish to finish processing, or are certain that SizeFixer is not processing your image, clicking the 'Cancel' button will cancel processing. This will not close the Processing Window. The button is only available when an image is being processed. SizeFixer should clear up any part-processed files.
What you can and can't do during processing
- You cannot alter any parameters or the output size of the image at this stage, since it would interfere with processing.
- Currently you cannot open image views on the image while it is being processed. This is mainly because it makes the final processing extremely inefficient - it means that the processor is constantly being interrupted to update image views rather than concentrating on the output processing.
- You can safely use other applications, though because SizeFixer needs a lot of memory, and is extremely processor intensive, other applications may be more sluggish to respond. This effect is significantly lessened on dual processor machines.
- You can Minimize SizeFixer by clicking on the left-most button in SizeFixer's title bar.
