Opening and closing images

Opening images

Images can be opened in one of two ways:

Initialising image...

SizeFixer displays a progress bar while it initialises the image. For some larger images this may take a few seconds.

Initial screen

When it completes, you will see a thumbnail of the source image in the top left of the user interface, whcih we term the Navigator window. A preview of the image will also load in the right hand portion of the user interface.. This view will also appear as ahighligh in the Navigator window and enables you to get a preview of the output that will be produced. You can move the area of the source image that is viewed by scrolling the highlighted area around the Nagigator windows. You may also open multiple preview windows at the same time and control the size oif the preview windows. Click hear to learn more about how to work with Views.

Closing images

You can close an image from the 'File' menu.

Please Note: closing a preview window or View does NOT close the image file. See the section on Views for more explanation.

If you try to close an image that is still being processed, you will be asked whether you wish to abort the process and clsoe the file or continue processing.

In addition to closing images yourself, SizeFixer will prompt you to close an open image file before you can open a second image. If you attempt to open a second image while the current image is processing, you'll be asked to stop processing before continuing.
